To provide equity at combat sports gyms located in low socio-economic communities.
Zen's Mindset Solutions DBA: Combat Mindset Solutions (CMS) is a Non-Profit organization founded by Dr. Diana Aguirre, Psy.D. CMS is dedicated to raising awareness and creating programs to help address the unique needs of athletes within Combat Sports.
ABOUT US
OBJECTIVE:
1. To increase the holistic well-being of combat sports athletes living in low-income communities.
2. To serve fighters at any level (E.g., Those preparing to become Amateur's and Professional’s):
•Children
•Women
•Men
•All ages
2. Identify the specific and unique needs of combat sports athletes mental health by engaging in ongoing research, to help close the gap of inequity.
MEANS:
1. Implement Evidence-Based Interventions:
•Group Counseling
•Individual Mental Health Coaching
2. Family, Gym, Coach Engagement: (Provide support and resources)
3. Community Engagement
4. Create Mental Health Awareness Campaign

Programs at Alpha Boxing Camp in Pomona and El Monte Boxing
Boxing Program
Youth (Ages 7 through 12):
- Days (M-W-Th)
- 4:00pm-5:30pm
Teens (Ages 13 through 17):
- Days (M-W-Th)
- 5:30pm-7:00pm
Adult Program:
- Days (M-W-Th)
- 7:00pm-9:00pm
Profesional Boxers:
- Days (Monday to Friday)
- 9:00am-12:00pm
Social, Emotional and Behavioral Learning
Combat Mindset Solutions uses evidence base curriculum to teach children pro-social skills.
CMS uses evidence-based curriculums for small group and individual classes that teach combat sports athletes (children and adults) emotional regulation, appropriate social, and positive problem-resolution skills, which in turn will contribute to prosocial behaviors (e.g., a healthy sense of self, empathy, healthy boundaries, etc.). The latter mindset can lead to a person’s self-awareness reaching their full potential, creating a path out of a low socio-economic status.
- Individual Mentoring: Fridays from 4pm-8pm
- Group Counseling Saturdays from 12pm-1pm

Board Members:
Lisette Gonzalez, MPA
Lisette Gonzalez, MPA, leads Combat Mindset Solutions’ grant writing and management initiatives, bringing a strong background in business, public advocacy, and both state and local government.
Her public service career began as a political intern, followed by her role as a Field Representative for the California State Assembly and and. Lisette went on to lead communications where she built and maintained strategic relationships with elected officials, city managers, non-profit organizations, labor groups, and community stakeholders across multiple cities and diverse constituencies.
Lisette is a proud member of the National Political Science Honor Society and the National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration. She received a Certificate of Recognition from the State of California in acknowledgment of her contributions to public service.
Lisette holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in Law, Policy, and Politics, a Certificate in Legal Studies, and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from California State University, Long Beach. Lisette remains deeply committed to a lifelong career in public service and community leadership.

"I’ve spent more than 30 years as a research coordinator, working on environmental projects that protect our natural resources and promote sustainability—work I care about deeply. Outside of my career, I’m passionate about giving back to my community. I proudly serve on the boards of Fist of Gold Youth Center and Combat Mindset Solutions, where I help support youth, mentorship, and mental health through the sport of boxing."
